Spanish IA - 7th Grade
Syllabus
Introduction: I would like to welcome all of you to your study of Spanish. As the word gets smaller, the need to speak more than one language is becoming more and more important along with the need to understand other cultures. Learning Spanish is a challenge but can also be fun. I am really looking forward to our adventures this year.
Purpose: Students who satisfactorily complete Spanish in the 7th and 8th grades receive high school credit for Spanish 1. This means that they will need to able to continue to Spanish II in 9th grade. I have very high expectations of all my students, but I am sure that - with all of the fun communicative activities we will be doing - everyone will be well prepared.

General Course Information:
- Textbook: We will be using the ¡En Español! Textbook by McDougal and Littell
- Student Binders and Journals: The students will be expected to keep their own binders divided and organized throughout the year. This is a very common practice in High School Foreign Language classes. In addition, a student journal will be kept in the classroom for warm-up activities, and will be graded once at the end of each term.
