Working on the Alphabet and Family Vocabulary...
In our 6th and 8th grades, we are working on the Alphabet project which I assigned on Friday. It is due this Friday, March 7th, so please make sure your student completes it on time!
In our 7th grade classes, we are working on writing about the family. Students were assigned the family project on Wednesday of last week (February 26th), completed the first formative grade on Friday and will complete the second formative grade Monday, March 3rd. The physical poster, book, powerpoint, or video is due on Friday, March 7th. Presentations will begin the 10th and conclude the 13th.
FYI: Grades for the 9 week report card are due the 13th of March. If you see that your student is missing a grade, PLEASE tell them to turn it in. Remember, there is no late penalty in my class and materials are available here on my website.
Feel free to check the new Daily Blog section of the website to get an idea of what we've done each day.
Gracias! Señorita Eme

Welcome to Miss Milligan's Spanish Class!
Welcome to Spanish at Sammy McClure Middle School!
As you learn Spanish, are you thinking you won't use it? Are you thinking, "what's the point?"
Hold up - consider that this language is real and spoken by millions around the world and no matter what interests you, learning any new language can expand your horizons - creativity (say you are into music or art), learning (say you are into history or literature), communication (say you are into entertaining, promoting, networking, and making friends), and entrepreneurship (say you want to build your own business or brand) can all grow in depth by learning a new language - depth often equals greater value, and greater value can equal more enjoyment, more knowledge, and even more money.
Before you think learning a language has to be THE focus of your life if you decide to master it (and you don't want to devote your life to it), you can learn functioning language as an added element to what you really want to do later. Every one can learn a new language and use it in life!
I'm wishing you guys the best this year - if you want to know more about how you can use your Spanish to benefit you later, come ask me!
